Aoife – Head of Marketing & Employee Engagement
Aoife is the driving force behind our marketing efforts and company culture. With a background in marketing and a degree from DIT, she joined B&G in September 2023, bringing her extensive experience to the table.
As the Head of Marketing & Employee Engagement, Aoife’s responsibilities are multifaceted. She liaises with our marketing agency to ensure our branding and content resonate with our audience. Additionally, she leads our employee engagement strategy, fostering an inclusive culture focused on employee development.
What Aoife enjoys most about her role is the constant opportunity to learn and grow. “I love how each day is different and there is always something new to explore,” she says. As her role evolves, Aoife continues to expand her skills and deepen her understanding of the construction industry.
Stan – Junior Estimator
Stan’s journey in construction began as a summer job, but his passion for the industry led him to join B&G full-time a few years ago. As a Junior Estimator, his expertise lies in tracking costs and keeping projects on budget.
On any given day, you might find Stan attending site meetings with foremen and subcontractors to track project progress, or in the office updating project files, creating purchase orders, and working on final accounts.
“I enjoy the variety in each of the sites and learning something new from each project,” Stan remarks. He’s currently studying Quantity Surveying part-time at ATU, further enhancing his skills in cost management and project planning.
Joanne – Internal Accounts Manager
With a family background in construction and a keen interest in accounting and finance, Joanne brings a wealth of experience to her role as Internal Accounts Manager at B&G.
Joanne’s responsibilities revolve around ensuring the financial operations of the company run smoothly and efficiently. This includes managing the accounting department, preparing financial statements, and conducting cost analyses.
“I appreciate the collaborative aspect of my job and working with various departments,” Joanne shares. She enjoys the team environment and fast-paced nature of the construction industry, where work-life balance and company culture are highly valued.
While ensuring accuracy in busy environments and keeping up with ever-changing accounting regulations can be challenging, Joanne remains committed to advancing her expertise in financial management and accounting through continuous professional development.
Nadiene – Internal Accounts
Nadiene‘s journey to B&G’s Internal Accounts team is an inspiring one. After over 20 years in the hotel industry, she decided to pursue her long-held ambition of working in accounts during the COVID-19 pandemic. She is currently in her third year of an Account Technician Professional Diploma.
Working alongside Joanne, Nadiene’s key responsibilities involve fulfilling the company’s accounting needs, such as preparing VAT returns and other financial tasks.
What Nadiene enjoys most about her job is the opportunity to learn and grow continuously. “Every day is a school day,” she says with enthusiasm, embracing the challenges and rewards of her career transition.
