We have had an exciting year at B&G Construction in 2023, having completed over double the number of projects we did last year. We have successfully completed seven projects and currently have six ongoing projects.
In line with our company’s growth trajectory and team culture objectives, we’ve expanded our team by six members. Each new team member brings fresh skills and perspectives to the company, making us stronger and more versatile.
Stand-out projects
Our project portfolio from this year includes a diverse mix of renovations, new builds, and commercial developments.
IVC Blanchardstown – Commercial
We undertook the modernisation of this veterinary clinic while ensuring continuous operations throughout the entire renovation. Implementing a phased construction strategy, we upgraded the entire building while the clinic continued serving the public without disruption.
Streamstown House – Renovation
With this particular project, we were working on a structure that was over 100 years old and had previously been a farmhouse, which brought its own unique challenges. It was also important to preserve a certain style that matched the original purpose of the building.
Spindrift – New Build
This live project in Howth features a complex design that includes the removal of the existing dwelling and garage in order to build a two-storey family home. This bespoke design aims to create a living experience that is infused with warmth and is inviting for family living. You can find out more about this project here.

Cuan Buí
The highlight of the year for us has been the progress on our new development, Cuan Buí. Consisting of 12 high-end homes, Cuan Buí will include three house types of two and three-bedroom homes.
This development hasn’t been without its challenges. The site is an infill site, meaning it is compact when considering the level of work that is taking place. Timelines are also quite tight for completion. We introduced phased work on-site to accommodate the necessary workload and maintain adherence to the established timeline.
The use of ICF construction has also been implemented on this project. We have used this method previously however this was the first time using it on a project of this magnitude.
Employing ICF construction elevates project productivity, leading to shorter construction timelines and reduced costs, not just on materials but also on labour. This enhances control over the construction process for B&G, making ICF construction a more efficient approach.

Overcoming challenges
The year was not without its challenges, as we fought with increasing material costs due to the widespread inflation impacting the entire sector. We also dealt with the scarcity of skilled tradesmen. However, in response to this, we developed a new career and recruitment strategy that includes developing career paths and growth strategies for all staff, benefiting the entire team.
Collaboration
This year emphasised the importance of collaboration as we forged strong partnerships with multiple architectural and engineering firms and delivered outstanding results through our joint efforts.

Plans for the future
